We all know that sugar is not so great for our bodies. But what about the sugar in fruit?
The sugar in fruit is naturally occurring. So has different effects on our body, compared to added sugar, say in cake or juice.
Fruit is super healthy for us it contains:
☑️ fibre to help keep us regular
☑️ vitamins such as vitamin C and A to help our immune system
☑️ minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium
☑️ antioxidants and phytonutrients
We know that eating plant foods like fruits and vegetables is beneficial for our bodies in so many ways. Current recommendations are that we aim for at least 5+ a day. But we know that the more we eat the better and studies show that 10+ a day is ideal. And eating fruit is an easy way to help achieve that.
Moral of the story?
Eat fruit! Aim for 2+ serves each day and don’t worry about the sugar in fruit. 😍
